Community Engagement for Road Safety
In May 2019, RTL supported Brake’s Road Safety Week by running a week long social media campaign and hosting a Bright Day to raise awareness for road road related deaths and crashes. Road Safety is at the heart of what we do at RTL. Whether it is signage, electronics, crash products or advice, RTL brings solutions to the marketplace to help New Zealand reach its Safe System goals. As a key supplier to this industry, RTL is committed to bringing in and manufacturing only high quality, compliant and SAFE gear. We take our responsibility as an industry leader very seriously.
In addition to this we are taking an active role in addressing the prevailing attitudes and behaviours around Road Safety. Starting with our own teams and using our social media platforms to spread the message, RTL is working with community groups and reaching out to other industry influencers to make New Zealand roads safer.
Road Safety week was successful on many fronts; creating awareness, staff and community engagement as well as some good old fashioned fun. In keeping with the nominated theme of #SpeakUp for Road Safety Awareness - RTL encouraged our teams to be the change and influence our whanau to slow down, belt up and drive to the conditions.
These types of initiatives will be permanent fixtures on the RTL social and marketing campaign calendar.
