RTL Roader's Roundup - Sign Specifications, Official places names, End of Financial Year

This is the restart of my regular email newsletters. I hope this helps you and any of your crew. Any feedback is appreciated.

Sign Specifications
We are expanding the how to guides and resources on our website. Our New Sign Specification Page is designed to be one place that pulls together all the National Standards/Documents to gather further information for your traffic services project or network needs. I find it handy as a starting point as invariably you must reference more than one document. Let me know if you needs others added.

Official Place names - Macrons
Macrons change the way a Māori word is said and its meaning – it is important. In regard to place names, to find out if an official place name has a macron, then you can go to the above Specifications page to find our link to the LINZ Gazetteer where you can search the name – go to the the yellow button “Official Place Name”. At RTL we know how to design them and add them onto the signs in a visually consistent way, all we need to know is - is it required on your sign at the time of ordering?

End of Financial Year Needs
Only a few weeks to go, if you need it order it soon. If you run out of time, we can pre-invoice your needs in June and supply the goods later. Download our popular traffic sign reference catalogue and view our latest road safety catalogue. Please share this with others if you think it will add value.

Till next time – we are working on an easy way to searching for the many sign codes/descriptions. Also some How to videos – gold!

Road sign installer's advice for life: "When in doubt, put up a sign! It might not solve the problem, but at least it'll warn people about it!"

Keep warm,
Winter is here!

Kā mihi,
