Project Case Study: All Signs Point to Manawa Bay

We were thrilled to be able to contribute to Mānawa Bay, New Zealand's first 5 Green Star Retail Centre, that recently opened out at Auckland Airport. The scale of this project was significant, with a 35,000m2 building situated on a 150,000m2 site in the north-east of the airport precinct, with an approx value of $200 Million+. Manawa Bay hosts over 100 shops with over 1400 carparks and can be accessed via both State Highway 1 & 16 connecting to SH20.

Working alongside Savory Construction Ltd, the Lead Contractor, RTL supplied over 100x road signs across the whole site, including permanent warning signs, speed signs, parking signs plus Delineators and sign support systems like aluminium poles, sign sockets and stayrights. It was a Traffitech Group effort, with our Sister companies also involved. Directionz Ltd providing sign installation services and Ross Road Markers who handled the delineator install and line marking.

Sam Askew, our Contracts and Tenders Manager, facilitated the sign supply and installation, co-ordinating manufacturing and install teams to meet project deadlines. Sam's feedback was "I enjoyed working on this project and working with such a top class client like Savory Construction".

Key Highlights:

  • All car parking signage installed within strict deadline
  • Full Traffitech group involvement – RTL - signs, Directionz- installation, and Ross Roadmarker's line-marking
  • 1,400-space car park, positioning Mānawa Bay among larger retail destinations in NZ
