RTL Service gets T8 AWVMS back on the road after insurance repair

RTL were contacted by the T8 Group after one of their AWVMS units was badly damaged in a crash. The unit was transported down to Auckland on the back of another truck, where our team looked after the whole insurance process - from assessment to repair. Read on to find out more.

The Repair Underway (during and post repair):

The initial inspection came first, where our Service team prepared a full insurance report, detailing the damage, parts that needed to be replaced (including photos), followed by a list of recommended repairs, indicative pricing and lead-time to bring it back to working order.

Due to the impact, the AWVMS required both panel and electrical repair work. The Advance Warning Lights and their mounting bracket were replaced, the maglock failed safety testing and was replaced, and the top display panel required a replacement tile and power supply. The top and bottom display panels needed some minor panel beating and the unit’s batteries were replaced due to being in poor condition.

We worked directly with the appointed assessor, ensuring they had everything and the claim was accepted within a couple of days. As all the necessary parts were in stock, we were able to get the repair underway immediately (and not have to wait to arrive from overseas). The AWVMS was restored back to a safe, clean, compliant operating condition - allowing T8 Group to return the asset to service without unnecessary downtime.
