Waste Management's Plastic Recycling Initiative
As part of our commitment to sustainability, RTL is pleased to inform you about Waste Management New Zealand's plastic recycling program that accepts our Edge Marker Posts (EMPs) used throughout New Zealand's road networks. RTL is not directly operating this program but providing this information as an educational resource to help our customers make environmentally responsible choices. By recycling EMPs, you're contributing to reducing construction waste, which currently accounts for approximately 40-50% of landfill waste in New Zealand.
“Through our partnership with PRNZ, a joint venture with Aliaxis Marley, we collect and transform PVC and HDPE pipe into granules for new pipe production, diverting plastic from landfills and reducing virgin plastic use”, Waste Management.
Collection Points:
- Auckland: Located at the bottom of Maurice Road in Penrose
- Christchurch: Waste Management facility (serving as the South Island hub)
Important Requirements:
For successful recycling of Edge Marker Posts:
- Delineator and red bands must be removed
- Posts must be reasonably clean for acceptance
Customer Options:
