Scorpion II Model C MASH TL-3 Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA)
The Scorpion II Model C is MASH Approved with a minimum support vehicle weight of only 6804 kg with absolutely no upper weight limit. Model C (without high reach extension) is the most popular truck mounted attenuator unit in the USA.
In NZ the Model C is suitable for shadow vehicles - where there is no requirement for the attenuator to fold up and over the LAS. (when the LAS is positioned away from the rear of the truck)
Truck Weight: Must be a minimum of 6804kg (tare weight). There is no upper limit / maximum weight restriction.
RTL recommends daily checks, monthly greasing, yearly TMA Inspection and replacement of pivot pins every two years. For more information, visit www.rtl.co.nz or contact our Service Team.
TMAs are designed for crash attenuation only and must not be used as a mobile barrier and should only be deployed at speeds up to 50 km/h. Any use outside these conditions will void the warranty.
